2025. The year of the snake. The year where so much of my personal world (and the world around me) changed. Chapters ended, I hadn’t planned on ending. New passions, closed doors, a constant reminder of why I can’t (and won’t) put down the camera and start doing something else in its place. I learned that trusting my gut, trusting my creative vision, and building a life for myself and not others is by far the most important thing I can do. So as I bid farewell to all that I have shed in 2025 and greet the year of the horse into my home at midnight on January 1st, I wanted to end this little note with a note of sheer gratitude and thanks.
Thank you to the bosses and employers who fired me due to “budget cuts” and reminded me that sacrificing my dreams and goals for the advancement and dreams of others is never worth the paycheck.
Thank you to everyone who supported my family through this year of change and growth. To those who texted, sent silly Reels, sent snail mail, called, went out to lunch, and overall just were present even when I didn’t have much to give.
Thank you to the clients who trusted me with their birthdays, business photos, weddings, elopements, graduations, and families. Thank you for trusting my crazy visions, weird requests, and laughing along with me as we did whatever it took to get the shot. I’ve had endless fun with all of you, and I’m so grateful my art gets to be a part of your legacy.
Thank you to my family (husband and kids) who always put up with my “but let me get a photo first,” and for always being my crew I know I can rely on.
To each and everyone of you, I wish you a wonderful and memorable New Year.
And to all of my 2026 clients, let’s get this party started!!!
XO,
Heather
